Janet Simmons - President and CEO

Janet Simmons is a decorated U.S. Army retired Veteran and accomplished business executive with more than 18 years of government contracting experience and a 20-year career in military intelligence leadership. As President and CEO of Simmetry, LLC, she leads the company’s growth as a trusted partner in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analytics, IT modernization, and professional services. Under her leadership, Simmetry advances mission success for government, academic, and commercial organizations through innovative, people-driven solutions.

Ms. Simmons has directed large-scale programs supporting the Department of Defense, Department of State, and Intelligence Community, overseeing portfolios exceeding $500 million and scaling operations by more than 300% growth in a single year. She has commanded units of more than 3,500 soldiers, advised senior leaders at the NSA, DIA, and the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, and continues to serve as a trusted voice on matters of national security and organizational resilience.

Beyond her operational expertise, she is a recognized champion of STEM education, workforce development, and small business growth. She played a pivotal role in securing a $25 million cybersecurity grant for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and co-authored published works on strengthening cybersecurity pipelines through education.

Her leadership and contributions have been honored nationally, including recognition among the Maryland Top 100 Women, 25 Influential Black Women in Business, and as a National Security Trailblazer of the Year.

Ms. Simmons is a magna cum laude graduate of South Carolina State University, holds a Master’s in Administration from Central Michigan University, and is pursuing her Doctor of Business Administration at Cambridge College.
